Fuel Mixture-Control Unit „K&N”
An instrument with whom one can check the fuel mixture (air/gas) constantly during the drive. As it is well known, an optimum engine power is only achievable at an optimum fuel mixture. You can check the mixture permanently to set up the optimum value if necessary.

How does the instrument work?
With the help of a Lambda sensor (in the same manner as in the catalytic converter system) the mixture's proportion is measured. Then the respective value is forwarded to a display with light emitting.
How to use the instrument?
The metering of the display happens from the left side to the right side. If only 1-4 diods flash up, the mixture is too meager. The flahsing of 5 lamps shows theoretically the ideal mixture of air and gas (Proportion of 14.7 : 1). Under full load an enrichment is necessary so that 7 lights are flashing.
Depending on the metering high power engines can have more than 7 lights flashing up. The instrument does not only work with gas/air mixtures but as well with fuels with nitrogen oxide. It is NOT capable for nitrogen methane or diesel. Attention: Only utilizable with undleaded gas!

How to install the instrument?
The delivered welded sleeve has to be welded to the exhaust pipe. The measuring point should be situated preferably near the engine because the sensor only works steadily from 315 degree Celsius on. Most suitable is a point to which the single pipes of the exhaust manifold run together to become one single pipe.
It is important that the sensor not only forwards the value of the single cylinder but the average value of all cylinders.
Voltage?
The instrument works with the usual on-board train power-supply voltage of 12-14 volt. It is reliable to a minimum voltage of 9 volt
Attention: The use of the sensor is not necessary if the engine already was equipped with a Lamda sensor factory-made.
